LAND & PORT

90% ACCURATE DETECTION & CLASSIFICATION OF VESSELS IN PORT & LAND OBJECTS

Monitoring port activity can give vital intelligence to military and commercial commands. Submarines moving out of port, vessel re-fuelling or movement of grouped military ships are all key indicators which add significant situational awareness on a strategic level.

Furthermore, monitoring the activity of (grounded) military planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles all give vital intelligence to decision-makers.

We provide accurate detection and classification of a vast catalogue of military and civil vessels in any light or weather conditions, day or night.

HOW WE DO IT

SATIM has built a highly accurate simulator for generating synthetic SAR signatures. The simulator allows us to simulate a SAR signature of any object and any SAR system.

Thanks to the simulator, we can add new types of vessels (e.g, a new type, class group or an unusual type) to train our AI model and to be classified within days.

OUR RESULTS

We have built an extensive catalogue of SAR simulations with 95% SAR data accuracy. These simulations provide training data for our AI-based software solution. We achieve over 90% vessel classification accuracy in port which is especially difficult due to interference of land objects.

What is SAR?

SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) is a powerful remote sensing technology bouncing microwave signals off the Earth’s surface to detect physical properties.

It is used to create a high-resolution two-dimensional representation of the imaging area.

Imagery can be captured day and night, without the usual visibility limitations of optical data and is well suited to monitoring extensive areas.

   Benefits of SAR

  • All Weather
  • Day and night
  • High spatial resolution
  • High temporal resolution
  • Global reach
