Partnership equips Bayanat Engineering Qatar with automated SAR detection and classification, broadening OREC’s support in the Gulf region.
DOHA, Qatar & KRAKÓW, Poland – September 30, 2026 – SATIM, the developer of AI-powered SAR analytics layer for defense and intelligence customers, and Bayanat Engineering Qatar today announced a partnership for the distribution of SATIM’s OREC software in the Qatari region.
The partnership enables military users and others to leverage OREC––the state-of-the-art solution for automated detection and classification of vessels, vehicles, and aircraft across SAR imagery––to compress the time between image collection and receiving actionable intelligence products.
OREC is a sensor-agnostic AI engine that processes SAR data from satellite, airborne, and UAV platforms under a single detection and classification standard. The software allows defense and intelligence end-users to quickly understand the situation and act based on standardised output. Through this partnership, Bayanat Engineering's Earth Observation & Remote Sensing Division extends its portfolio of solutions for aviation, maritime, and border-security missions.
The partnership builds on OREC's validation through NATO CWIX and its operational deployment for the German Armed Forces with Rheinmetall, extending SATIM's SAR-based intelligence layer into Qatar alongside its existing partnerships with Thales, Airbus, ICEYE, Capella Space, IMSAR, and TacticaAI. On the Qatari side, it adds to Bayanat Engineering's established footprint across aviation, meteorology, security, maritime, defense, and energy systems integration, delivered in partnership with organizations including some of the international partners Saab, Lockheed Martin, Frequentis, Indra Park Air , Indra Micronav, Vantor & HawkEye360.
"Bayanat Engineering's customers in Qatar already receive SAR imagery at scale. What OREC adds is the analytical layer that extracts insights out of the data. Vessels, aircraft, and vehicles will be now detected and classified in near-real-time to equip end-users with a persistent situational awareness." – said Jacek Strzelczyk, CEO of SATIM
“A couple of years ago, we established our Earth Observation & Remote Sensing Division with a clear ambition: to bring advanced satellite-based capabilities and actionable intelligence to Qatar. As the first Qatar-based company to establish a dedicated capability in Earth Observation and Remote Sensing, we are proud to be building this expertise locally. Our collaboration with SATIM further enhances our ability to deliver automated, decision-ready insights across defence and beyond, supporting a growing range of critical missions and industries.” – added Hasan Ezzeddine, Managing Partner of Bayanat Engineering Qatar.
